      Gorgeous large colors and spare verse tell the story of the wonders of Monterey Bay in California. This is an excellent example of a book of non-fiction for young readers.  Additional detailed info is included in side bars.

      Lively, folk like illustrations add to this traditional Jewish tale of lazy Shlemazel who claims he has no luck. When Shlemazel is tricked into believing that his gift of a spoon will change his life if used in the right way then fortune does indeed follow him home.
