Gifts to the Library
The Jay Orlin Library accepts books only in good condition. Materials will be evaluated to make sure that they fit into the Schechter curriculum. Adult books may be put on a special shelf for the use of teachers to read, outside of the library. Other donations may be given to Afterschool, or sold at a book sale, or donated to appropriate institutions.
Library Donations
The Jay Orlin Library accepts donations throughout the year for all ocasions, (in memory of, in honor of, get well, in celebration of, etc. ) If you give an $18 donation, a book plate will be placed in a new book. If you want to request a type of book for your donation, please make the request when you send in the information with your donation. If you wish, download the donation form (PDF). The form is for both libraries.
Bar and Bat Mitzvah Donations
Many parents have chosen to use library books as centerpieces for their child's Bar or Bat Mitzvah. If you wish to do this, please give a donation to the Jay Orlin Library and the librarian will purchase the books. The Jay Orlin Library will also include personalized books plates for each book as well as cards for each table publicizing the donation.
