Welcome to the Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Boston! Thank you for taking the opportunity to learn about our wonderful institution and its outstanding educational program in secular and Judaic studies.

I am proud of Schechter’s success in educating students who become self-confident, compassionate, practicing Jews as well as committed citizens. Our students and graduates are prepared for the academic and social challenges of the modern world; they have a strong connection to the Jewish people and the land of Israel, and they truly embody our goal of instilling “Learning and Values for Life.”

Now in its fifth decade, Schechter has earned a local and national reputation for excellence in Jewish day school education. Our curriculum in both secular and Judaic studies is engaging and challenging, presented in a classroom environment that is warm and nurturing. Guided by dedicated faculty members, students are encouraged to develop individual strengths and to realize their full potential – academically, spiritually, artistically, physically, and morally.

Schechter’s educational program balances disciplines-based learning with child-centered inquiry. Academics are enhanced by a strong enrichment program and by a myriad of opportunities for children’s self-expression in the arts and sports. Families throughout Greater Boston continue to be attracted by Schechter’s mission and record of achievement. Propelled by their heritage and strong Jewish identity, our alumni are motivated to take their places as committed Jews in communities throughout the world.

Parents are our partners in the education of each child. We welcome parent involvement, whether it be assisting in the classroom, participating on committees, or enhancing your own Jewish learning through adult education opportunities. Parents join with the faculty and staff in creating a caring community that surrounds our students, and extending that community outward through service programs that foster the well-being of people in Greater Boston and throughout the world.

I encourage you to find out more about Schechter, whether through the pages of our website, talking to friends and our current parents, or by visiting our campuses. We would treasure including you and your children as members of the Schechter family, as we continue our tradition of excellence in education through the twenty-first century.

B’Shalom,
