School Day:

Early Childhood Program: 8:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. with early drop-off and extended day programs available

Lower School: 8:10 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Upper School Grades 4-5: 8:00 a.m.-3:10 p.m.

Upper School Grades 6-8: 8:00 a.m.-3:10 p.m. Monday and Friday; 8:00 a.m.-4:05 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday

November-February, Friday Dismissal: 2:00 p.m. for grades K-3 and 2:10 p.m. for grades 4-8

Extended Day: Available for all ages until 6:00 p.m. (earlier for grades K-8 on Fridays, November-March)

Educational Schedule:

Gan Shelanu offers a play-based program with both English and Hebrew-speaking certified early chlidhood specialists.

Kindergarten and grade 1 students have one full-time teacher who incorporates Hebrew, Torah, Jewish holidays and customs within the school day.

In grades 2-5, students spend half the day with the general studies teacher and half with the Judaic studies teacher.

In grades 6-8, students are on a middle school schedule, where they change classrooms for each subject.

Schechter families come from over two dozen cities and towns, including Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, Framingham, Natick, Needham and Newton; hail from almost 30 different countries of origin; and, represent a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds.
