Generations: A Campaign for Excellence and Affordability

Generations: Endowing our Future

A Campaign for Excellence and Affordability

The Generations Campaign supports our commitment to providing our students with a dynamic 21st century education, infused and enhanced by Jewish learning and values, to prepare our students for informed and active engagement in the Jewish community and the broader world.

We are thrilled to announce that thanks to generous support from many donors, Schechter has concluded our Generations Endowment Campaign and has raised a total of $11,369,717.  We are so very grateful and inspired by the investment members of our community has made in our school.  Academic excellence and affordability are priorities for all of us, and we are excited that we have been able to strengthen our endowment to help secure these priorities in the years to come.

“Schechter taught me critical thinking, how to build a community and how to take ownership of my own Jewish life and identity.” - Schechter Alumna

$2.5 Million Gift Challenge Accomplished

Schechter fully matched the $2.5 million Krupp Challenge put forward by philanthropists George and Lizbeth Krupp, who agreed to match all eligible gifts designated for middle-income affordability. The Krupp family believes deeply in the vital contribution of Jewish day schools to the strength of our community. Their $2.5 million matching grant to CJP, for which Schechter is the named beneficiary, will help make Schechter accessible to many more families in the greater Boston area.

Gifts to Generations were made in two ways, outright gifts represented 66 percent ($7,487,217) of the total and Legacy gifts represented 34 percent ($3,882,500).  And with the establishment of our Generations Legacy Society, planned giving has become another important vehicle for supporting our School in the future. We welcomed 31 new members to the Generations Legacy Society during the Generations Campaign. When these gifts are realized (hopefully not for many years), they will become a part of the School’s permanent endowment.
