Ceramic Candle Holders for Shabbat

Students used clay to form candle holders for Shabbat. Using real Shabbat candles to press into the clay, they used clay tools and their hands to form the shape and embed designs, before they were fired or baked in the school kiln.  The next step was to add designs and with colorful ceramic glazes before firing the candle holders a second time in the glaze.
