Lit Mag

Do you enjoy writing, art, photography, or graphic design? Express your creativity by joining the literary magazine (lit mag) elective! We plan to relaunch a Schechter student magazine devoted to showcasing creative projects such as short stories, poems, art, and photographs. Join this elective if you are interested in writing, editing, and/or designing the new magazine. Not sure what exactly a lit mag is? That's no problem! Students will learn all about what goes into a lit mag, look at examples of similar publications, and learn from graphic design experts. No design or publishing experience required.

Creative Writing

Got a story that’s been living in your head? Ever wonder how authors create worlds you can get lost in, or how a single line of poetry can stick with you for days? In this class, we will explore the art of storytelling through fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction. Experiment with your creative expression while learning how to bring your ideas to life on the page. Through fun challenges, group workshops, and lots of imagination, we'll discover our unique voices as writers, and you'll leave with a collection of writing you'll be proud to share.
