A Summer Experience At Schechter

Key Details

Who: Students ages 12 months-rising Pre-Kindergarten

When: Weekly sessions from late June through early August

Hours: Full day, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Staff: Led by experienced Schechter teachers and assistants

Our summer program offers our youngest learners a safe, playful, and welcoming place to grow. From water play and art to sports, science, and Hebrew fun, every day is full of movement, creativity, and connection.

Kids rotate through a mix of structured and choice-based activities each day, including:

  • Water play and outdoor games

  • Arts and crafts

  • STEM exploration

  • Singing and Hebrew fun

  • Friday Shabbat celebrations

2026 Weekly Themes: Adventures Await!

Week 1: Ocean, Beach and Seashells
(June 29–July 2—No program on Friday, July 3)

Vacationers will explore all things “Beach” from waves to sand to shells. Exploring shells and the sounds they make to create beautiful art with them.

Week 2: Bubble Mania (July 6-10)
Vacationers will see how bubbles are made in order to make solutions of their own to create enormous and different size bubbles. Painting with bubbles is fun and fabulous.

Week 3: Pirate Adventure (July 13-17)
Vacationers will be pirates and ARGH their hearts out this week. Looking at the world through a pirate lens will fun and finding buried treasures to boot.

Week 4: Let’s Go Camping (July 20-24)
Looking at the stars at night, making smores and hanging out in tents will bring the feeling of camping.

Week 5: Planes, Trains and Automobiles ... (July 27-31)
Vacationers will have a blast traveling by any mode of transportation to partake in unlimited adventures! “Ahoy there!,” “All Aboard!” and don’t forget to “Fasten Your Seatbelts!”

Week 6: Fairytales (August 3-7)
Princes and Princesses, Kings and Queens too, castles, costumes and magic wands to name just a few of the fun things we will use and create this magical week. Fairy dust, magic spells and of course our imaginations will guide us to tons of fun!

Week 7: Eric Carle (August 10-14)
Delving into Eric Carle’s books is exciting and certainly will be a colorful experience. Making crafts inspired by his work is part of the experience.

Week 8: All Thing Summer Art (August 17-21)
Vacationers will get their hand at making summer art from tie-dying to sand sculptures. Please join us for a creative week of summer art.
