Middle School Language Arts Teacher (Full Time 2026-2027)
Schechter Boston seeks a skilled and thoughtful Language Arts teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. We value learning as an academic, social, and spiritual endeavor, and we believe that great teaching blends rigor, curiosity, and care.
We invest seriously in teacher growth, through collaborative team structures, time for planning and reflection, and real ownership over curriculum and instructional design. We also care about teachers’ quality of life: the work is demanding, but it is structured to be purposeful, humane, and sustainable, with room for professional development and personal growth.
Job Description:
Both independently and in collaboration with the grade team lead and subject coordinators, our teacher will:
Design and deliver intellectually engaging lessons that develop strong foundational skills and spark curiosity.
Differentiate instruction and assessment to meet the needs of a wide range of learners.
Cultivate a classroom culture where all students feel known, challenged, and supported.
Use ongoing cycles of reflection, observation, and student work analysis to refine practice.
Contribute to a collaborative teaching team that believes in continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Strong classroom teacher with at least two years of experience teaching middle school language arts (or comparable).
Skilled at building relationships with students, parents and colleagues and establishing productive classroom routines.
Committed to inclusive and rigorous instruction and to meeting students where they are.
Experience teaching diverse learners.
Eager to collaborate, give and receive feedback, and share responsibility for curriculum and student learning outcomes.
MA degree required
Pay & Benefits:
Competitive salary; commensurate with experience up to $105,000
We thrive to provide a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package that supports our faculty and staff, including: health insurance, prescription drug benefit, vision, healthcare/dependent care flexible spending account (FSA), long term disability, life insurance, employee assistance program (EAP), 403(b) with employer matching, tuition reduction for employees’ children, up to 30 paid holidays, sick time and personal time, and early dismissal on Fridays.
