Built Around Childhood

12 months through Pre-Kindergarten

Learning At Gan

At Schechter’s Gan, every part of the day begins with a simple belief:
young children learn best by wondering, exploring, moving, creating and playing.

Intentional Spaces

Our newly expanded Gan features 12 new classrooms that are intentionally designed for our youngest learners—filled with natural light, thoughtfully scaled furniture, cozy reading nooks and seamless indoor outdoor flow. Our Gan also offers new, age specific playgrounds that support gross motor play, imagination and exploration, giving children the space they need to grow, move and thrive.

Dedicated Teaching Team

Thoughtful planning and responsive teaching creates days filled with discovery. Teachers guide children as they build first friendships, practice independence, develop language, strengthen growing bodies, and learn to care for one another as members of a classroom community. Our teachers follow the interests that emerge naturally in each classroom, making space to linger on the questions children are most excited to explore.

Music, movement, outdoor exploration, art, dramatic play, sensory experiences, early literacy, STEM, and physical education are woven naturally into children's learning. Hebrew integration is a part of everyday learning with native-Hebrew speaking teachers in the classroom. The Jewish calendar shapes the rhythm of the year, giving children opportunities to celebrate, ask questions, tell stories and experience traditions through the seasons.

Our curriculum is interconnected in ways in which children make sense of the world.

Integrated Learning

The Gan offers a first school experience designed to give children more time to wonder, more opportunities to discover, and more moments to grow with confidence. Explore our curriculum to see how each stage of the Gan builds on the last.

Our New Home

A Building Designed For This Age

Starting Fall 2026, Gan moves to a newly renovated home at 60 Stein Circle purpose-built for children aged 12 months through Pre-Kindergarten.

Bright classrooms, outdoor spaces for movement and messy discovery, and a community small enough for teachers to know what makes each child laugh, what they're working on, and what they're excited about.
