Early Childhood Teacher- The Gan (2026-2027)

Schechter Boston is seeking talented, mission-driven Early Childhood Teachers to join the Gan—our Early Childhood program for the 2026-2027 school year. We are hiring teachers for our Toddler classrooms. Teachers work collaboratively with colleagues to create nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environments.

Position Overview

The Early Childhood Teacher is responsible for creating a warm, inclusive classroom community that supports the social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development of young children. Teachers thoughtfully design learning experiences responsive to children’s developmental stages, interests, and identities, while building strong partnerships with families.

Core Responsibilities

  • Serve as an inspiring role model by fostering a caring, respectful, and joyful classroom culture

  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment that supports each child’s growth and well-being

  • Design and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with emergent and constructivist early childhood practices

  • Observe, document, and assess children’s learning and development to inform instruction

  • Support children’s social-emotional development and self-regulation

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with children and families

  • Communicate regularly and meaningfully with parents in a clear, compassionate, and professional manner

  • Collaborate closely with co-teachers, specialists, and colleagues

  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives

  • Contribute positively to the collaborative culture of the Gan and the broader Schechter Boston community

Expertise in Early Childhood Education

Strong understanding of child development, learning differences, social-emotional development, and inclusive practices across early childhood.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, background in education/early childhood education preferred.

  • EEC Infant-Toddler Teacher Certification required.

  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience teaching in an early childhood setting preferred.

Salary and Benefits

Salary: Competitive pay range $42,000-$70,000; commensurate with experience, education and certification.

Hours: Either 7:30AM-3:30PM or 10AM-6PM.
