Music Teachers: Private Lessons (2026-2027)

Job description

Schechter Boston is looking for the following experienced Private Music Lesson Teachers:

  • Piano teachers

  • Drum teacher

*the position applicants apply for should be their primary instrument*

As a music teacher at Schechter, you’ll be teaching private lessons to students in grade K-8 (beginner, advanced beginner and intermediate levels) helping them develop their technical skills while fostering a deep understanding and appreciation for music. Our ideal candidates are patient, enthusiastic educators who are committed to tailoring lessons to meet the unique needs and interests of each student. 

Teachers are paid $30-$35 per 30 minute lesson. All lesson scheduling is done by the After School Music Program. We offer lessons from 3:00pm-6:00pm, Monday-Thursday. We are looking for teachers for 1-4 days per week.

All candidates must have a degree in music/music education and experience teaching private lessons to children.

Responsibilities:

Provide engaging and comprehensive music lessons to students

Develop personalized lesson plans based on students’ skill levels and goals

Teach music theory technique and performance skills

Foster a positive and supportive learning environment

Prepare students for recitals

Monitor student progress and provide feedback for improvement

Communicate with parents

Work collaboratively with music team
